Harrogate Herald – 3rd April 1918
Harrogate Borough Court
Wilfred M Alcock, engineer, of Bilton, was charged by Lieutenant
W R Boston, RHA, with the theft of his trench coat, gloves, and
cash, the total value being £6 6s. PC Durdy said he received
information of the theft. He saw the defendant, whose clothes looked
bulky, and he accosted him and found the missing articles in his
possession. On charging the prisoner he replied that he always did
something like that when in drink. On the application of Supt
Fearnside the defendant was remanded until Saturday.
