Roll of Honour
A valued Corporation employee, Gunner H Boyes,
has died in hospital at Leith from shrapnel wounds received in
action in France. He had been in the employ of the Harrogate
Corporation for 16 years, being in the Highways Department, and for
the last nine years was the horse keeper. He gained the confidence
and respect of his employees by his steady and conscientious work.
He joined the Army last November, and recently received shrapnel
wounds in he back. He was brought back to this country, and went
into hospital at Leith, near Edinburgh, where he succumbed to his
wounds early this week. He leaves a widow and family, and these have
the deep sympathy of his many friends.
