Sapper Edward Brady, of the Wireless, was eighteen months on the lines, until he contracted rheumatism. When he recovered, he was sent to the workshops, where he is now employed. Brady came in to see me on Monday morning. He had met Wilfred Wade, son of Mr Wade, who was station-master at Nidd, but is now, of Holtby. Wade and Brady served their apprenticeship together with Mr Wray, electrician. Brady had also met Harry Johnson, of the Royal Engineers, son of Mrs Johnson, Walker's Passage. Brady has been nineteen months in France, and this was his first leave. He is very keen on his job, which he finds scientifically interesting.

With Brady came his youngest brother, Private K Brady. He is only 19 now, but has been in the Army six months on this side of the water. He is in the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. There are quite a number of Harrogate boys in this lot. For instance, there is Reynard, from Killinghall Moor, and G Holmes, of Starbeck. Private K Brady holds the cross guns for marksmanship in rifle shooting. A very good record for a boy of 19, is it not?
