W P Burkinshaw
Harrogate Herald - 7th February 1917
W P Burkinshaw, writing under date February
1st, says :
Once again I take the pleasure of thanking you very
much for your fine paper, which I receive every week. I'm sure it's
the one thing we boys out here who receive it look forward to at the
week-ends. It enables us to know of the doings in the dear old town
and of chums we knew in our peaceful days. I was up seeing J Dalton
last week. He does look well, but like myself wishes this terrible
war over. However, I think and hope you will have us all back with
you before long this time next year.
Harrogate Herald - 4th July 1917
W H Breare letter
You will be pleased to hear that W B Burkinshaw has
been promoted to full Corporal. I have had a letter from him, and he
is much gratified at this recognition. He hopes his friend E Horn,
who is expected home on leave, will have a very good time.
Harrogate Herald - 28th November 1917
The following are men who have sent us the Army
post-card briefly stating that they are well and have received
papers and parcels, or whose letters contain views that have
repeatedly been expressed by other correspondents, but show their
friends that they are all right :
