Harrogate Herald - 3rd January 1917
Letters
Sapper R Chapman, of Knaresborough, of the
Anti-Aircraft Section, writing on Xmas Day, says :
Dear Mr Breare, I should like, through your paper,
to thank Lady Evelyn Collins and all kind friends for the
lovely Xmas parcel, which I received quite safely this morning. It
is very nice to know that they still remember the lads, though we
are far from home, and I think if they knew the pleasure it gives us
and how their kindness is appreciated they would feel well repaid. I
must also thank you for the Herald, which I receive every week. I
find it very interesting indeed, and it is very nice to read the
various letters, and also it reminds me of fellows who I have not
seen or heard of for so long. Our Xmas dimmer is nearly ready, so I
must close. Wishing you all the compliments of the season.
