Harrogate Herald - 31st January 1917
Letters
Private J Clark says :
I am writing you a few lines to thank you for your kindness in
sending me the Herald. It was quite a surprise. I wrote to my
brother asking him if he got any Harrogate papers to send them over
to me, and I got a letter from him the same day as I received your
paper, saying he had sent you my number and battalion. I have not
come across any Harrogate boys out here, but have been hoping to
meet my brother, as it is close on ten years since I last saw him. I
was in Harrogate in November, but I was that busy visiting after
being away for two years I had not time to call on you, but the next
leave I get I will if possible. I Don't think that day is far
distant when we shall all be back with our families, as by the look
of things I think Fritz is about all in. Again thanking you for your
kindness and wishing you all success.
