News has been received from the War Office that Bugler W J
Coleman has been seriously wounded. He is the son of Mr and
Mrs G Coleman (baths manager at Starbeck), and is well-known in
local swimming circles. A short time ago, he was granted the Royal
Society's humane certificate for rescuing a lady from the River Nidd
at Knaresborough. He went out to France in April last, and his
father is also serving at the Front. The nature of his injury is
gunshot wound in the head. He is now in the 23rd General Hospital,
Etaples.
