Harrogate Herald - 2nd January 1918
Letters
Acknowledging receipt of the Herald, Gunner J Darwin says :
I can tell you I look forward to it coming very much. I saw
recently lots of familiar faces of the Beechwood Boys. There was
Stanley Horn, of Starbeck, the Harrogate and District League
football referee, and we had a good chat about the days when
football was going well in Harrogate. I also saw Bert Kitson, of New
Park, and Sam Coupland, and a good many more old faces, and
we had some pleasant talks of old times in the old town. I am sorry
to say that my friend George Pullan has moved somewhere else, and is
expecting to be shortly to be going on leave. Old Fritz is at
present nice and quiet and behaving himself; he may be giving us an
Xmas treat. Wishing you all success and a merry Xmas.
