Harrogate Herald - 25th December 1918
W H Breare letter
Sergeant John Cummings, 14 Chestnut Grove, of the Loyal
North Lancashire Regiment, has been in. He was taken prisoner on the
30th November, 1917, at Eppy. He was five months in Sennelager,
likewise in Cootbus, Brandenburg, East Prussia. At first he suffered
much through want of food, but the parcels came to his rescue. His
people did not hear where he was from November to the beginning of
February. Cummings looks well and of course was radiantly
happy at being at home.
