Harrogate Herald – 3rd March 1915
Private G Deighton, 2nd West Yorks, writing
home, says :
Dear Mother, Just a line to you hoping to find you
well as it leaves me at present in the best of health. Don't worry
about me, as I am all right here. It's real if only it were fine
weather. Did I tell you about the Town Clerk of Falmouth, Mr E E
Armitage? He was waiting on the station to see us off, and he gave
me 6s and some fags. He is a Harrogate chap. Tell Dad not to worry
about me, as I am all right.
Your loving son, George.
