Harrogate Herald - 24th January 1917
Corporal A Dobby wrights :
Thanks once again for your most valuable paper,
dated December 13th, which I received as a New Year's gift. Thanks
also for the publication of my two letters which I noticed in this
particular publication. I will tell you how I spent my Xmas. We were
relieved from the trenches for our Christmas dinner, which consisted
of turkey, potatoes, etc., also Christmas pudding; and I can tell
you we enjoyed it very much under the circumstances. We had quite a
decent time, then returned to the trenches. I must wish you a happy
New Year and your paper every success.
