Private J Flynn says : 

I am a great reader of your Herald, and like to see the photos of boys, for we have a great number of Harrogate lads in our battalion. There are some York lads who are challenging the Harrogate boys with the gloves, so could you oblige us with a set of gloves. As the Harrogate boys do not like to write and ask for them I thought I would ask for the benefit of 9 Platoon, C Company, West Yorks. Wishing you and your paper every success.
