Harrogate Herald - 9th May 1917
Wednesday Gossip
The friends of Trooper Wright (Derbyshire Yeomanry)
will be interested to hear that Mrs C Garbutt, of Station Parade,
Harrogate, has had a letter from her son, who is with the Salonica
Forces, to whom she sends the Herald every week. He saw the note and
photo of Trooper Wright referring to his being missing, and has made
enquiries of other men in the regiment, and as far as he can gather
Wright was wounded and taken prisoner on the 20th August on the
plain. His company, he says, was in action on the day in question,
and the Bulgars took some prisoners. Pte Garbutt asks his mother not
to forget to let Wright's friends know, and she desires to do so
through our columns. This news will, doubtless, be welcome and
consoling to Wright's friends.

W Farndale writes from Salonica :
I have received razor safely,
and wish to thank you very much for it. We are still in the same
place - nothing to see only mountains in every direction. I ran
across another Harrogate boy a few weeks ago, son of Mr Garbutt
furniture dealer, who is in the RAMC.
