Roll of Honour
Mrs Greaves, 6 South Beech Avenue, Starbeck, has received
official news that her husband, Private R Greaves, was
wounded in the right arm, and admitted to the 7th Canadian General
Hospital, Etaples, on 17th August. Private Greaves was
employed at North-Eastern Railway, Starbeck, and joined the 12th
West Yorks in November, 1914. He went out to France on September
10th, 1915, and went through the battle of Loos on 25th September,
1915. He was also in the battle of St Eloi, when he was wounded, and
he was again in the big push at the battle of the Somme in July,
1916. He was transferred to the West Yorks, and was wounded on June
20th at Ypres and again on August 17th at the same place, making the
third time wounded.
