Roll of Honour
Rifleman John Thomas Hardcastle (King's Royal Rifles) has
died while a prisoner of war. The deceased was 26 years of age, and
the second son of the late Thomas Hardcastle and Mrs Hardcastle,
of Mulwith, Boroughbridge. He volunteered in November, 1915, and
joined the King's Royal Rifles under the command of the late Earl of
Feversham. He was wounded in September, 1916, and was in hospital
until the following Christmas. Rejoining his regiment in January,
1917, he returned to the front in February, and was taken prisoner
on July 10th last.
