Roll of Honour
Mrs G Heward, Brearton, near Harrogate, has
received a letter from the War Office, stating that her husband, Sapper
G Heward, has been wounded in the left leg, and is in hospital
in France. Sapper Heward was transferred a few weeks ago as a
bomb thrower in the West Yorkshire Regiment. Before joining the Army
he was employed as a mason on the Nidd Hall estate 15.5 years, and
is one of the four sons serving abroad of Mrs Heward,
Farnham, near Knaresborough.

View, Brearton, near Ripley, has died of wounds received in action
on December 29th, 1917.
