Claro Times – 3rd April 1915
Private G Hogg, one of the first Canadians to
be at the Front, and who is now in hospital with a poisoned heel,
sends home to his friends the following, which he entitles "A
Game of Nap", composed by him and some comrades in the trenches
:
I'll go one says Austria;
I'll go two, says France;
I'll go three says Russia,
Because I'll stand a chance.
I'll go four, says Germany,
And wipe you all from the map;
But they all dropped dead when Brittania said –
"Lor' Blimy, I'll go nap!"
