Harrogate Herald - 24th January 1917
Private P Holdsworth says :
Just a line, hoping to find you in the best of health. Everyone
seems to be keeping well under the circumstances here, but colds are
very prevalent. I see that a lot of poor old Harrogate lads have
gone under of late, worse luck, but I suppose it has to be. It will
be a good job when it is all done with and we get back home again.
The weather is very funny, first rain, than wind or frost, and of
course the mud seems to be always here. I think I will close now,
wishing you and the old paper the best of luck.
