Claro Times – 13th August 1915
News was received from the York Record Office, by Mr R Holland,
Oak House, Leeds Road, Harrogate, on Tuesday morning that his son, Private
J A Holland, of the 1/5th West Yorks, has been wounded. This was
not the first news of the occurrence, for exactly a week previous a
letter from his brother stated that he had been wounded in the chest
by shrapnel. The official news gives the date of his being wounded
as July 31st, and states that he has been wounded by gunshot. He has
been admitted to a hospital at Versailles.
