Harrogate Herald – 1st December 1915
Amongst several local soldiers over from the Front
for a few days' well-earned rest is Private A Holmes, of
Knaresborough, who is in the Canadian Highlanders, and was wounded
some time ago in the shoulder, but has since completely recovered.
He has been in three of the battles, including Ypres, and in three
other engagements his regiment has been close up in reserve.
