Driver F Clark, writing from "Somewhere in France", says : 

I have at last found an opportunity to drop you a few lines. First of all, I must thank you for sending me the paper so regularly every week. I always look forward to Sundays coming, because I expect it. I was very pleased to read in the paper about a week ago that Sam Holmes, of the ASC, had been home on leave. I see by the papers that there is plenty of skating going on in England just now. Here we have had plenty of snow and frost. It is enough to freeze us. I am sorry to say I have no Harrogate chaps in my company, but I should like to ask you a favour. A comrade of mine would very much like a mouth-organ, and cannot get one anywhere out here. I thinks a bit of music at night would liven us up a bit. Wishing you and your paper every success.
