Harrogate Herald - 16th January 1918
W H Breare letter
Another man invalided home is Gunner A Gledhill, Royal Field
Artillery, son of Mr and Mrs Thomas Gledhill. The father formerly
drove for the late Dr Atkinson. Gledhill is suffering from the
effects of mustard gas. He will not be going out for some time, if
ever again. He was in at Paschendaele Ridge, and before that at the
Somme, Anore, Messines, and Nieuport. He came across the son of
Alderman Sheffield, who is in the Army Service Corps, but he did not
know his initials. Gledhill spoke of G Horner, 1 Mayfield
Terrace, who last august was badly kicked by a mule. Horner
has had two accidents, but was alright at last accounts.
