Sapper Tom Horner, Royal Engineers, son of Mrs Horner, Kirkgate, Knaresborough, is in hospital in Kent suffering from severe shrapnel wounds in legs and arms. He was working on the railway not far behind the front, when a shell was ????????? which killed two comrades and wounded Horner and six others.
