Harrogate Herald - 28th November 1917

We are pleased to state that Corporal W G Howell, son of Mr H Howell of Wetherby, formerly of King Edward's Drive, Harrogate, has been awarded the Military Medal for conspicuous conduct in action under heavy hostile shelling on November 8th last. Corporal Howell is in the Garrison Artillery (Trench Mortar Battery), and joined up two years ago.
