Harrogate Herald - 12th December 1917
W H Breare letter
The many friends of Trooper Walter B Ingleby, 2319, of
Pateley Bridge, will hear with regret that he has been officially
reported wounded and missing since October 12th. The only son of Mr
and Mrs W M Ingleby, High Street, Pateley Bridge, Trooper
Ingleby, who was in civilian life a gardener in the employment
of Mr John Metcalfe, of Castlestead, for whom also his father worked
for a lengthy period, joined the Household Battalion, and had been
about twelve months in the Army. His parents, as well as his sister
(Mrs Stowe, 55 Cecil Street, Harrogate, whose husband is in the
Flying Corps), will be glad of any information as to his whereabouts
so as somewhat to allay their anxiety.
