Seaman A Kaye, RNR, son of Henry Kaye, of 43 West Cliffe Terrace, Harrogate, has been awarded the Distinguished Service Medal. Seaman A Kaye was on the same boat with the mystery VC, Captain Gordon Campbell, throughout his three years campaign being four time torpedoed, and experienced many other narrow escapes.
