Mr R Kirby, 59 Allhallowgate, Ripon, has received a communication from the military authorities that an unofficial report has reached them that his son, Private H Kirby, who was posted as missing, is a prisoner of war in Germany. Private Kirby was reported missing on the 27th of February. He is the eldest son of Mr Kirby, 30 years of age, and joined the Army on October 19th, 1916, going on active service in January of this year. He was educated at the cathedral Boys' School, and in civil life was a plumber.
