Harrogate Herald -
8th December 1915
Private J W Lamb,
10th West Yorks Regiment, writes :
I received your paper all
right and it is nice to read it on these dark, cold nights. I must
tell you we are having some very hard frosts just now. It is very
bad travelling with the mules on the roads here, as the best are not
as good as the worst in England. The road we go to the trenches is
very dangerous. We have had s few of our men knocked out of late
with stray shots. We have a few Harrogate lads in our Battalion, and
all of them seem happy. I must close now. Wishing your paper every
success.
