Harrogate Herald - 5th
September 1917
Gunner C E Walton writes
:
I am pleased to say that I get
the Herald every Monday, and I look forward to its arrival, as it
tells us all that is going on in Harrogate. I think your letters to
our boys on service are very interesting, also the letters from the
boys who are out doing their bit, many of whom I know. Personally I
was very sorry to see in the paper that Private G Leaf had
been in hospital with trench feet, but hope that he is better now,
and that so many Harrogate and district men have made the supreme
sacrifice for their country, but I do hope that the war will soon be
over, and that they have not given their lives in vain.
