Harrogate Herald - 20th June 1917
Private F Linfoot has been awarded the DCM
for "leading his platoon in an excellent manner, taking his
first objective, reorganising his men and leading on, gaining his
second objective and consolidating the position". Private
Linfoot has been in France with the West Yorks since September,
1914, and seen some very severe fighting, so far escaping without
injury. He was formerly employed by the Harrogate and District
Co-operative Society. His wife and family reside at Harrogate and
his father and mother at Spofforth, where Linfoot was brought up. He
expects to be home on leave shortly.
