Harrogate Herald - 30th May 1917
The following are men who have sent us the Army
post-card briefly stating that they are well and have received
papers and parcels, or whose letters contain views that have
repeatedly been expressed by other correspondents, but show their
friends that they are all right :
Driver G Marshall
J R Marshall
Harrogate Herald - 24th April 1918
W H Breare letter
I am anxious to obtain information of Private J R
Marshall, of a West Yorks Regiment, whose parents have been
notified that he was again wounded on the 12th March. The mother has
had two letters from him, one dated 15th March, the other 17th,
since when she has had no word from him. One letter was six days in
coming, so it may be that he was wounded after these dates. Will you
boys do all you can to obtain particulars of him and let me know?

Mr and Mrs Marshall, 16 Regent Grove, Harrogate, have
received a post card from their son in Germany, Private J R
Marshall, West Yorks, in which he says he was wounded in the
left arm and taken prisoner. He writes that he is in hospital with
some pals and cheerfully adds that he is "going on fine".
