Roll of Honour

Mrs Marson, of 47 Skipton Road, Harrogate, whose husband, Private Fred Marson (WY - attached Northumberland Fusiliers), was reported missing since October 13th, has now had intimation that he is killed. In a letter received from his officer he says : "....... A good Christian man, whose unvarying bravery, unflinching courage, and whose many deeds of kindness will never be forgotten by me, and by many of my officers and men. He was always ready to volunteer for any work, however difficult or unpleasant, but on the last day we saw him he was a real hero, doing the work he loved best, rescuing the wounded under heavy fire, again and again, risking his life without any hesitation". A memorial service will be held at Elim Hall tomorrow (Sunday) at 7pm.
