Harrogate Herald - 30th January 1918

I find the Herald very interesting indeed, and look forward to
each week's copy with eagerness, as often some of my pre-war chums
appear on the picture page. Your good work on behalf of the West
Yorks, and prisoners of war, etc., evokes my warmest admiration, and
it is surprising how you can find time to attend to so many
different charitable organisations, seeing how short-handed you must
be just now. I hope you will be able to carry on in the same way
until blessed peace comes. I am sure the boys will never forget your
kindness and the unfailing interest you have taken in looking after
their comfort throughout the long months of war.
