Harrogate Herald - 20th March 1918
Breare letter
Corporal E W Morley, of the King's Own Yorkshire Light
Infantry, is a son of the late Superintendent Morley, of
Knaresborough, who died in a nursing home about four years ago. The
son has come home to take a commission and report at Ripon. The
family lived at Knaresborough, as many of you know, and the mother
is still in Harrogate. Morley has been 16 months out. He was
in the Yorkshire Dragoons in 1915, when they were in Harrogate.
Afterwards was transferred to infantry. He has been well all the
time. Before the war he was employed at Bradford. Holmes, of
Harrogate, but which Holmes I do not know, is in his company.
