Harrogate Herald - 1st August 1917
Letters
H Newby, acknowledging the Herald, says :
I am sure it is quite a treat to get a bit of local
news, as the paper gives you a good insight of what is going on at
home. I am pleased to tell you that I have met a New Park chap I
know called Fred Needham. He joined our battalion a fortnight
ago. He is about the only local lad I know in our battalion. We are
out for a rest at present, as you will see by the Church Army paper,
and the countryside where we are resting is most picturesque;
everything looks so peaceful. I am sorry to see Fred Miller from
Clint is missing. he was an old workmate of mine.
