Harrogate Herald - 25th April 1917
Letters
Private W Nelson says :
Just a few lines to thank you for the socks, which I received
while in the trenches. They came in A1, for the weather was a bit
rough, and they could not have come at a better time. In my section
(the bombardiers, as we are called) are mostly Harrogate lads, and
wish to be remembered to you. There is one thing we would like, that
is a mouth organ, if you have one to spare. You will have seen by
the war news that the Harrogate lads still keep the old ball
rolling. Wishing you and all at home the best of luck. (We have sent
Private Nelson a mouth organ we had by us - Ed)
