W H Breare letter
On Friday afternoon I had a visit from Sergeant Wade, of the WYs, son of Mr & Mrs Wade, of 33 Wayfield Terrace. Wade was highly delighted to meet, whilst at home,
Newstead, who had been discharged. It seems Newstead will have to go through another operation in about 18 months, which is a long time to look forward to. Swires and Waring, of Pateley, were in Wade's platoon. He had met Regimental Sergeant Major Curry and Driver Medd. John Lee, of our staff, is in his battalion. Wade looks well and was in good spirits. The latter, naturally, seeing he was at home.
