Harrogate Herald - 8th December 1915
L F Pearson says :
Allow me to thank the anonymous
friend through your paper for the two footballs which we received
quite safe. All the boys of the column are grateful to this
anonymous donor. We have been very busy for a good time now moving
from place to place, and it has been impossible to write before for
the most welcome gift we have received. We are leaving France, and
our first consideration will be the football. May I also thank you
for the papers you so kindly forward to me weekly. These, I might
say, pass away many an hour. It is great to read local news when so
far away. I now conclude, wishing your paper every success, and
again thanking the anonymous friend.
