Chats with the Wounded
Private Pickering, of the King's Own
Yorkshire Light Infantry, is in the St George's Convalescent Home
suffering from rheumatism contracted on the Western Front. In
November last they were three weeks in the trenches, where the
conditions were such that the men spent practically the whole time
in mud and water. After being invalided out of the trenches he was
five weeks in hospital in France in a weak state. He is undergoing
the treatment in Harrogate, while he is making a steady, if slow,
recovery.
