Harrogate Herald - 3rd January 1917
Letters
Gunner G E Ransom, far away in Egypt, has received the
watch Mrs Murray kindly sent for him, and in a letter to Mr W H
Breare says :
Hope this letter finds you in the best of health, at it leaves me
at present, and I must now tale the opportunity of thanking you for
the watch you sent out for me, and I find it comes in very useful,
as it is better with a watch than without in such a place as this
with nothing to look at for miles and miles. The reason I have not
written before is because I have been moving further out and have
had very little time for anything, so I hope you will excuse me. I
don't think I have any more to say, only hoping you and all the
Herald readers will have a merry Xmas and a bright New Year, and
thanking you once again for the watch. Wishing you and your paper
every success.
