Harrogate Herald - 27th February 1918
Private Renton, of the Notts and Derby's, is in the
Beaulieu Hospital suffering from rheumatism contracted on the West
Front. He speaks highly of the entertainments provided for the men
in hospital. The other night the Lady Mayoress of Leeds borough a
concert party of five, including Mr Parker, the bass singer from
Lichfield Cathedral, and they had a most enjoyable concert. Then
they had a whist drive last week, and the men have got up a billiard
handicap, the winner of which was Private Gordon. The men greatly
appreciated these entertainments. Private Renton, who was the
Front about fifteen months, is undertaking the treatment and is
making a steady recovery.
