Sergeant Rhodes, West Yorks, son of Mrs Rhodes, Strawberrydale Lodge, Harrogate, has been brought into hospital in England.

There is an interest feature in the case of another Mons man just brought to my notice. His father is also serving with the colours. It is five years since Private Claude Rhodes joined Queen Alexandra's Own Hussars. He was a clarionette player in the band, but volunteered for a fighting unit in France, although his bandmaster wished him to remain. He has been out one year and seven months. His father, Sergeant Robert Rhodes, enlisted the day after Claude went bank from leave in 1915, joining Kitchener's Army. He is now in Salonica. Sergeant Rhodes was employed as clerk at Messrs Watson's soap works in Leeds prior to enlisting, and the family came to Harrogate to reside five years ago, their address being 1 Cambridge Place. A photo I have of Claude shows him to have been a very smart, well-set-up young fellow at 18, and a typical British soldier. I hope to reproduce it some time, along with the father's.
