Harrogate Herald - 8th January 1919
W H Breare letter
Sergeant Robinson, of Knaresborough, looked in to see me on
Thursday whilst on leave from Germany, where he is with the army of
occupation. He is one of the nine that Lieutenant Titley brought
home in the early hours of Boxing Day, and he was very grateful for
the way Mr Titley helped him towards his home. Being a National
Reservist he at once rallied to the colours on the outbreak of war,
suspending his business withy the impression that he might be back
in a month or so. He is one of the Beechwood Boys, undergoing
training with them at Harrogate. He went out to France with them and
has experienced their vicissitudes, the 2/5th having a pretty rough
time when they got to the fighting line, being "over the
top" every day and sometimes two or three times a day at one
period. He was transferred to the "Koylies" on the 2/5th
disbandment. He has had only eleven days in hospital during the two
years out.
