Claro Times – 27th February 1915
At York City Court, on Saturday, Henry Scales, 19, a
Private in 26th Company, 5th Reserve
Battalion, West Yorkshire Regiment, Beechwood, Harrogate, was
charged with deserting from his regiment. Detective Sergeant T
Barker said information was received from the military authorities
in the middle of January, but witness was unable to trace defendant
until Friday. Defendant was remanded to await a military escort.
