Chats with the Wounded
Private F Stinchcombe, of the 10th Worcesters, is in the
Beaulieu Hospital suffering from frostbite. They were in the
trenches in the early part of November at Festubert for five days,
and they had not only the frost to contend with, but the wet. Not
all the troops could be provided with the boots reaching high up the
leg, and practically all this time they were standing in mud and
water. The feet of Stinchcombe became swollen to such an
extent as to break the laces of his boots. He is now doing well. He
speaks highly of the treatment the wounded soldiers receive at the
Beaulieu Hospital.
