Henry Thornton

Harrogate Herald - 5th September 1917

Letters

Gunner H A Colbeck writes :

Just a line to let you know that I am going on nicely, and that I received the cigarette case and holder, for which I wish to thank you. I see that Harrogate is fairly full of visitors just now, so expect the dear old town will be in full swing. Oh! if only this job were over and all us boys back again. I often wonder what it must be like and how you all feel with all our boys away from home. I suppose the sight of an eligible man will be quite a rarity now. I received my paper all right here at the hospital, and I have lent it to another Harrogate lad who is here. His name is Henry Thornton. He was for a long time connected with the Harrogate Temperance band. he is getting on nicely.

PS. I should be pleased to have a game or two suitable for a recreation room table if you happen to have one or two by you, as we chaps have lots of spare time on our hands here in hospital.
