Harrogate Herald - 31st January 1917
Letters
P Todd says :
I received your parcel of music quite safely
yesterday (Jan 16th). I have no idea who the donor is, as no letter
was enclosed, but I hope you will express my thanks through the
medium of you paper. We have a choir of about 35 voices, and are
holding two practices a week, and have mastered several pieces, so I
suppose we shall be giving occasional concerts to the patients in
our hospital. Again thanking the donor of the music and yourself.
(I fancy the music was from some we had had in hand
some time, and the donor's name had got misplaced - Ed)

Letters
P Todd says :
I received the set of chessmen which Mrs Preston forwarded
through you, and I have written an acknowledgement to Mrs Preston
thanking her for the same. The trouble to which you are prepared to
go for the boys seems to have no limit, and you may rest assured
that it is appreciated in the same spirit as it is sent. Again
thanking you for trouble and expense incurred.
