Chats with the Wounded
Gunner James Tulip, of the Royal Field Artillery, is in
the St George's Hospital with shrapnel wounds in the arm and body.
He was in the Bullecourt sector. A comrade and he had just gone into
a dugout to get some sleep when a shell came over and blew the
dugout in, burying the pair of them and killing his companion.
Fortunately for Tulip help was at hand and others of the
battery dug him out. He went into hospital in France and came
straight over from there to Heatherdene Hospital, being subsequently
transferred to St George's, where he is now doing nicely.
