The announcement of the death from wounds received in action of Private G T Verity (West Yorks), son of Mr and Mrs Verity, Stean, was received on Monday last with deep grief and regret at Middlesmoor and surrounding villages. Private Verity, who had resided with Mr J T Carling as farm manager for six years, was very popular and highly respected, and a trustworthy and faithful servant. A memorial service will be held at Middlesmoor Church on Sunday evening, May 6th. He died at the 13th General Hospital, Boulogne, France. Mr and Mrs Verity have two other sons serving with HM Forces.
