Letters
Driver J Webster says :
Just a line hoping to find you in the best of health, and I am
pleased to say that I am going on all right at present. I don't
think that this name will convey anything to you, but I am a
constant reader of your paper, which I get sent out every week. I
used to work for Mr Hunter, pork butcher, and also at he Builder's
Exchange in the area. My brother-in-law is Mr H Gill, of Elmwood
Street, whom I expect you know. If it is not asking too much of you,
myself and the boys would be very pleased if you would oblige us by
sending us a melodeon, as we have very long evenings and nowhere to
go, and I am sure we should be happy if we had a little music to
cheer us up. Trusting you will oblige if possible.
